Arrival at Muthoot
Cardamom County (MCC) - welcome drink - lunch
- jeep safari to the mountains - return - dinner
- overnight stay at MCC |
Start on the jungle trek at 7:30 am from the boat
landing, for about one and a half hours (approx
4 kms) - Packed breakfast from MCC - start on
the bamboo raft (weather permitting) which takes
you on a unique trip into the core areas of the
jungle and also the non-tourism zones, to see
a variety of wildlife including Elephants - Tiger
- Leopard Bison (Gaur) - Sambar deer - Otters
- Bear - Wild dogs - A rich variety of bird life
can also be observed.
Lunch will be served in the jungle (prepared by
forest staff) - Continue rafting and at about
3.30 pm the raft will drop you on the shore -
Trek further Reach the Forest Bungalow for an
overnight stay in the middle of the jungle. A
guard will stay with you and also cook and serve
dinner Leave for MCC at 7:00 am the next morning,
after a refreshing hot cup of black tea/ coffee. |
Breakfast
at 9:30 am at the resort - As a grand finale,
relax with an Ayurvedic massage (can also be done
on the first day after the Jeep safari) - Check
out. |

Please note:
The Forest Bungalow is owned and maintained by the Forest
Department. This trek is a complete rough-it-out experience,
where you will get to commune closely with Nature, manage
with just the basic essentials and pay due respect to
the rules and regulations of the Forest. Pregnant women,
people with heart ailments, and children below 15 years
are not advised to take this package Ideal
clothing:
warm jackets, and also rain gear since it is a wet region.
Light colored clothes that camouflage with the natural
surroundings are recommended, so as not to attract/
disturb wildlife - Sports shoes with good grip for climbing
- And for the bird watcher, a pair of binoculars. |
